How to install core development tools?

How can I install Core Development Tools like make, gcc (C/C++), Perl, Python & Debuggers etc?
It’s different in Debian/Ubuntu and CentOS/RHEL.

Install development tools in Debian/Ubuntu
Well, this is as simple as this command,

sudo apt-get install build-essential

Build-essential contains an informational list of packages which are considered essential for building Debian packages.

 

Install development tools in CentOS/RHEL
To install developer tools like GNU GCC C/C++, autoconf, make and others, we only need to install ‘Development Tools’ group on RHEL/CentOS/RHEL/Fedora/Scientific Linux.

$ sudo yum groupinstall 'Development Tools'
