How to enable EPEL Repo on RHEL 7?

With the help of Fedora EPEL repo, we can easily install many popular packages. Currently the EPEL repo for RHEL 7 has more than 4,000 packages already. Then, how can we install EPEL repo on RHEL 7?

Well this step should work for the upcoming CentOS 7.x as well. The installation and configuration of EPEL on RHEL-7 is quite easy, all you need to do, is just to run this command:

[root@rhel7 ~]# rpm -ivh http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/beta/7/x86_64/epel-release-7-0.2.noarch.rpm
Retrieving http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/beta/7/x86_64/epel-release-7-0.2.noarch.rpm

Now, we can use the EPEL as normal,

[root@rhel7 ~]# yum info axel.x86_64
Loaded plugins: langpacks, product-id, subscription-manager
This system is not registered to Red Hat Subscription Management. You can use subscription-manager to register.
